What brick is this? What color mortar?
It looks like a red brick that's been treated with something. I really like the way that the pool looks like it could be from centuries ago with the palm trees in the backdrop. I would love to have a brick pathway like this in my backyard. Luke | http://www.europeanstonedesign.ca/services.shtml

Outdoor brick fireplace
Used brick patio and fireplace create a warm and cozy outdoor living space.
Do you know where I can purchase a screen similar to the one in front of the brick fireplace in this photo?
Hi Amyphorton! I used old bricks, salvaged from the destruction of old buildings in the construction of the patio and fireplace. I love the look - but if you are in moist area of the country, keeping them clean requires some maintenance. Many of the brick are porous so mold and moss can grow
downdraft and some smoke can blow toward the sitting area. We are considering adding one more foot to the chimney, as well as adding one more course of brick to the opening. Hope this helps.
a couple of times during the summer months to retain the clean look you see in the picture. I feel the maintenance is worth the warmth the antique brick creates. Thanks for your question!
