Warm Modern in Noe Valley-Exterior
Wow! Such a cool backyard space! Did the land already have a rise in it before you divided it into gradually rising sections?
Like the first example in this ideabook, this townhouse's backyard is a series of terraces that soften as one moves towards the rear of the yard. A glance from the far terrace ...
allows the gardener to add new soil in raised beds on a concrete base, gives varying light to different types of plants and adds dimension to a small backyard. Adding terraces visually expands a small plot into distinct, separate spaces.

On the addition of the pergola, I see it has a cover as well what did you do about the rood valley and water run off. And it appears it is tied into eves and facia not roof. Is this correct? Thank you, Kellie
The gutters continue behind the pergola and connect in the corner to catch the valley runoff. The top layers of pergola are not connected to the roof.
It looks like the whole house opens to the outside backyard.
It is in a corner valley as our placement will be.

Strike up a festive mood with string lights. Outdoor café lights strung from tree to house and back again create a lively atmosphere in this backyard.
