from a barn in southern Ontario. It has a shiplap joint and has been installed in a rainscreen wall assembly that we require in our region to allow ventilation behind the wood (i.e there is a 3/4" airspace behind the boards). There is also an air barrier and vapour barrier incorporated in the assembly

I like the walled garden behind the barn.
Love the barn, and the garden!

Another very cool use of barn board in a modern setting. Notice the sides are on edge to keep the light in?!

I guess I was unclear in my previous question. I am referring to the top and bottom of horizontal boards - how were they milled? were they just left raw or milled to hide the nails
purchasing barn wood and would love for it to fit together in the same way your photo does. If I leave raw I will have to paint the wall behind.
