Is this an 8 foot ceiling? I'm building a house in an over 55 development. Should I pay extra for a 9 foot ceiling in my basement?

Like to see picture of whole basement inc. picture bathroom
Would love to see the whole basement. The picture that we are looking at is beautiful Love to see the bathroom Thank you
I have had basements with low ceilings, eight foot, and now nine. I can tell you it is really a huge difference. It may not seem like it but it really does matter. When you are downstairs in our basement it does not " feel" so much like a basement. Also, it will help with resale

How did you achieve the texture of the walls?
We have painted concrete block walls in our basement and I'm trying to find a cheap fix without installing drywall or putting up paneling. I hate the block wall look so I hate just to paint them but these walls could work perfectly for us! I've looked
I love the look you have created with exposed beams and painted cement walls! Would love to do something like that with our basement but we have insulation in between joists overhead and a contractor told us the walls had to be insulated? is that right
This is one of the more practical renovations of a typical midwest-older-home basement I've seen. Nice!!

The wall of antique barn wood paneling is unexpected in this company lobby. The blue paint treatment mimics the look of aging signs on barns across America, and highlights the company name. Inviting and relaxed furnishings and the presence of an employees dog at work welcomes visitors.
what type of wood is used for the wall and what is the stain or treatment used to get this color please?
What is the paint color for the walls? Thanks!
what type of wood and finish is on the floor. would it be suitable in a kitchen
The wall boards are reclaimed old barn siding purchased from a reclaimed wood supplier. Perhaps the supplier cleaned them prior to delivery, but the color is just natural aging. I hope that is

new house and have discussed doing old barn wood as our trim throughout the house. We have plenty of old barns on the land we own to get the wood, so that is not a problem but the question is - how do you smooth the wood out without taking away its rustic look? We are going to have kids in the future
Hey there! We very lightly sand our wood so that for the most part it is smooth, while not completely getting rid of the rustic and aged patina. Wire-brushing after sanding will remove any loose teeth (potential splinters). Finishing the wood will also seal it and, depending on the finish
finish you choose, enhance the character of the barn wood.

I have a similar shape basement and loved the concept of loft style. I'd like to get an idea of the square footage of this basement and also the cost (just to build the space). Thanks

what was basically a poorly maintained storage area, ventlilation is important. How can we improve the ventilation in the basement. How does cold and hot weather affect the basement if ventilation is inadequate?
I would love to paint my ceiling basement, however have run into difficulty with electrical inspection regarding what is allowed to be painted and what isn't allowed to be painted. Was this an issue for you and how did you deal with it? Thanks
uitive but it did work better than I imagined. I have been in basements that have exposed structure painted white and it seem like the ceiling is lower because it doesn't recede like the black paint. It also seems to look dirty. The walls were intentionally bright white to counteract the dark ceiling
