The tall plants are standard roses. If you in a zone that has winter temperatures that fall below freezing the plant will lose it's leaves. You would prune the top (round ball) just like you would prune any other rose. Here's a link for more info

It's a variety of white climbing rose ....google a reputable mail order source.
I had no problem with the roses in a pot . . .they climbed on the lattice. Climate was perfect. They are iceberg roses. Very prolific.
