Do you know the name of the fireplace stone and color?
ever seen! Will you share how the stone is supported over the cabinets? I want to do this in my kitchen.
Can you tell me what stone it is and how thick? What is the
What happens when you have to try to clean the grease from the stove top in the stone around the oven?
Is that natural stone, or a veneer?
The stone around the range (and throughout this home) is Harlowton Stone. It was set with masonry mortar that is a natural grey color and you really don't see from the face of the stone. Good luck with your project!
The masonry in this home is Harlowton stone. This can be found throughout the Rocky Mountain region.
Can you please share the name of the cabinet maker? I also like the range and the backsplash for that stone hood. Is that copper or bronze behind the burners? The whole kitchen is fabulous. Did you use reclaimed oak on the floor as well, or did you go with

Type of stone / Draining system used ?
HI ! What type of stone should be used to make such a bench ? I mean does it have to be a porous or a non-porous one ? And for the draining system
type of stone used here is our native Ohio Amherst sandstone, which though porous, is dense for a sandstone. If the stone is used to also retain soil, as it was done here, then drainage is key, and piped gravel drainage should be incorporated so that water can get out of there and not make the stone too
Sorry for the delay - the backing stones are actually retaining the soil from a slight hill behind - perennial lavender is planted close by and is just visible - have designed others where the landscapers use larger backing stones that stand on their own - but slopes are made for this

What are the plants between the stones
That is Mazus reptans. Its high tolerance for foot traffic makes it a great plant to place between walkways and stepping stones.

What is the stone on the 'floor'?
We are designing a house in SC, and would love to be able to incorporate the same or similar stone. Thanks!
picture: we designed and built the front entry court, radial stone steps, pillars, bluestone walk, bluestone landing, and lighting.
Hi toiqdo - the columns are 24"x24" and the stone coping on top overhangs 2" on each side so that makes it 26"x26"
26"x26" on top. The height, as measured from the second step to the top of the stone coping is 26".
Hi Jillwilson - the stone we used here is called Pennsylvania Bluestone.
