Do you know the span of board between the batten? Is it 10"? Thanks!
Thanks for your interest! The Garage is about 40'3" wide the side you are looking at, and 25'3" wide on the sides. The downstairs is simply a garage with lots of storage space. The upstairs is an apartment including a kitchenette, a great room, a bathroom, and a bedroom.

you please let me know what type of siding?
We used to live right next to this beautiful house! We are currently siding an addition in Glenwood MN with board and batten siding. Would you please be willing to let us know the width of the batten and the spacing of them? Thanks in
What are the spacing dimensions on the battens--16 and 8, or 24 and 12?
It's board & batten siding. We used cement board for the board and batten and the lap siding on this house for lower maintenance. Houzz wrote a nice piece on this kind of siding here: http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/3221642/list/Renovation-Detail--Board-and-Batten-Siding

really thick battens and corrugated metal
Locally harvested western cedar board and batten siding is resistant to decay. On the north side, more likely to mildew, the corrugated metal covers the facade. An entry porch offers protection from inclement weather and leads to the front door. More Houzz Tours:Cabin Studios in the LandscapeCourtyards

what is the distance oc? And to clarify you used 1x boards? or sheets of reverse board and batten? thanks so much!
You can also do the siding vertically as tongue
However in that application it should be done on furring strips to create a drainage plane behind the siding.
Terry thanks for the question. This house actually has what is known as reverse board and batten. Because of the assembly it actually works very similar to a rain screen. So no, it should not
Does the rancher have B&B siding too?
I have an early 1950's L-shaped ranch house built into a hill. Looks like a one story from the front, but from the garage side and back of house, it looks like a two story. I really like the look of B&B siding, but can't decide if it would look right
right on my rancher. Would love to see a photo of your rancher if it has B&B siding on it. Thanks a bunch! Kathy

Hi there - I'm gearing up to do a horizontal reverse board and batten siding project and I was hoping you could give me a quick explanation
verticle siding color and window clad color
We are looking to replicate these exterior colors. Is that real board and batten or is it hardiplank? What color is it called? Also, what is the window clad color?
in the walls - second question is the nailing schedule. To prevent cracking and checking I know it's best to do a single center nail pattern on the boards. If I do this, won't cupping be an issue? Thanks.
