Hanging shelves is another easy project you keep putting off. A shelf can sit in its package, and the books sit on the floor. All you need is stud finder, level, and a drill and it's done. Then you have the reward of styling the shelves to your heart's content
clutter in your home before it reaches epic proportions. For instance, if you purchase a new pair of sneakers, toss out an old pair; when you buy a new book, choose one you've read to donate to your local library. Similar to caring for a garden, doing a little each day or week will help your home flourish

Books are the only things I still actively acquire, but I get rid of them
recently had an epiphany: He can't handle books. His wife — my sister, Torey — has known this since they married, as she, by default, has had the task of organizing his extensive and ever-growing collection. David would routinely come home with boxes or bags full of books he had picked up for next to nothing

Curate into coloursIf you have a spare afternoon to transform a random mishmash of books into a stylish feature, organising them by colour is the way to go. Keep the background of your shelves neutral – brightly coloured paint or patterned wallpaper will dilute the effect.
arranging paperbacks according to the colour of their spines, a simple set of bookshelves takes on a whole new look. The books add strips of colour to the wall and look neat and ordered, too.
