Is the living room a few steps down? If so, what did you do with the cabinets on the living room side? I am looking to open up my kitchen to my living room which is two steps down and I don't know what the cabinets would look like in the living room and if the counter would be too

that the top of the counter on the LR side would be 48" - a bit too high for a bar counter. Best to install cabinets or open shelves on the living room side and use the space for added storage.
