Love the brick! Veneer? As a backsplash isn't brick porous?
where did you purchase the brick veneers from... and what color?
The brick is from South Texas Brick and the color is hard tan. They were thin cut for this application.

Lovely kitchen, I love the warmth a brick wall in this space can add. Juxtaposed with the heavy modern marble makes for a great combination.

should a sealer be used on exposed brick walls?
I have recently taken off old plaster to expose interior brick walls. After cleaning should I seal them? Is there a sealer that won't alter the look of the brick? I would like to avoid the "glossy" look. Thanks, Theresa
I removed paint from brick in my condo kitchen using Peel Away, then used a brush to wash, and sealed with linseed oil. I applied it once and in 11 years did not do anything more to the brick. It looked great.
I haven't heard that brick needs to be sealed, so I'm curious to see

what brick did you use for the deck & coping?
I would love to use brick on my deck like this, but I am worried about the roughness on my kids legs at the pool edge. Any advice?
I'm doing a similar project on my brick home in Houston. Could you tell me the size of the grill, the width of the backsplash and the width of the vent hood in this picture? thank you
surface in full sun? I know that brick gets hot, but I was hoping that the "over-mortaring" helped with that situation. I can't tell from the picture... did you lay the brick on the skinny side or on the wider(and smoother) side? I looked at some old chicago brick and it seemed that turning it on
on the smoother wide side made you miss out on much of the color variation that you get from these antique bricks. Perhaps that doesn't happen with the Old St. Louis bricks.

Who is the brick manufacturer and what is the name of this color? Thanks so much!
Our Firm, Bricks Incorporated, salvages 6 different sorts of common brick from the Chicago and Milwaukee region. You can get them in full bed depth and thin depth. Here is a link: http://www
That is a reclained brick from Chicago. The supplier is no longer in business. The best thing you can do is look for a local reclaimed brick supplier and go see what they have on their yard. Make sure they have enough for your job
