The effect of the mantle in the dark wood with the light stone is beautiful, and perfectly complements the scale and look of the furniture. I am looking to replace a mantle that gets lost on a brick wall, and would like to know how this mantle was attached. Thanks for your inspiration
of the stone that you used for your fireplace?
is the stone fireplace and how wide are the built-ins that flank the fireplace?
you used stone overlay on a fireplace, how do you set a 100 year old piece of wood for the mantle? It is extremely heavy.
Two different ways we have attached wood mantels. 1. set mantle then let masons stone/brick around it. 2. install wood blocking that would be flush with finished stone/brick
