Need help with raised planter boxes.
have a vegetable garden using planters like these. How shall I plan for water drainage? It's also a great spot because (I think) I can keep the deer and rabbits out by having a gate at the top of the stairs that lead to it.

planter bed for drainage or under the boards to keep the wood off the ground? Do you line the inside with a landscape fabric?
favorite raised bed example. We're copying your plan for sure. Thanks!
Hi - I really like this design and plan to build in my yard. When you line the inside, are you stapling a liner to the wood and leaving the bottom open? Is the 2x10 lumber setting on the gravel or dirt? Is there gravel under the dirt? Did you put newspaper at the bottom or screen?
for the raised beds, looks like about 3 feet. Like Rob said, make the paths big enough for your equipment, whatever that is.
Like the gravel between the raised vegetable beds. That would help control all the weeds that grow where we want to move the raised beds.

rblockRaised beds made from cinderblock can be constructed in a number of different ways. garden beds are so cool! How did you build them?
How much did it cost, and how long did it take for you to build them? Did someone do it for you, or did you hire somebody? Where did you get the product! Thank you! please reply asap im working on a garden. thank you :)
These raised beds are constructed with 4x4 posts at corners and mid spans. They are on the inside of the beds and the outer 2x6 boards are carriage bolted to them. They were all custom built by the landscape contractor on the project. Depending upon where you live, you could
on the beds without having to bend over. But the higher you make the beds, the harder it is to wheelbarrow dump new compost or soil into it. If you are a taller or shorter than average person, you may want to adjust the height to what is most comfortable for you. We would discourage anything less

What is better for a vegetable garden, full sun or partial?
because most vegetables need 6-10 hours of sun a day to thrive. However, in hot climates like Dallas or desert areas, partial shade in the middle of the day gives you more flexibility in what to plant. If your garden gets full sun, you can use shade net to reduce the harshest effects of the hot sun, or adjust
