Lovely project! How is the porch screened? Some sort of panels?
We seem to need our porch re-screened every year but some repairmen do a better job than others pulling the screens taught and replacing molding

There are no gutters on the upper part. The water spills onto the lower porch, (The metal roof can handle it), and is picked up by the gutter there. The porch gutter has rain chains at the corners to avoid having downspouts.

of Ipe but am worried about using t&g Ipe because my porch occasionally gets rain blown in. But I don't want it to look like a deck either which is what worries me about spacers. Any ideas?

can't remember. The porch has a roof and an overhang, but still gets sun and rain. Ipe is dense & durable, but needs to be maintained unless you want it to weather to gray.
