previously no access. Given the nature of the structure, there wasn’t a cavity in the ceiling to add lights or wires to, so the team created this bulkhead over the desk to bring in six pot lights. This room was designed to allow the homeowner to easily add walls and a door to turn it into another bedroom

not go to ceiling re: bulkhead a stability bar was required
What is the ceiling height? I notice you've painted the bulkhead the same color as the wall and leave the ceiling white. I read somewhere it says if the ceiling is 8 ft or under, paint the bulkhead the same color as the ceiling. Hence my question. Thanks.
If you are referring to the bulkhead it is a dropped bulkhead to allow for ductwork that we could not re-locate. Prior to the renovation the entire ceiling was dropped making the shower much shorter
Hello! There is not a rule of thumb for painting soffits and ceilings accordingly. I agree with decorating101 in that painting the soffit or the bulkhead the wall color elongates the ceiling height and also enhances the overall feel of the bathroom!
