Hi there! I really love that pin board.
I would love to recreate a similar bulletin board for above our double built in desk. I'm just not sure what to use under the fabric for the pins to stick into. Love your
wanted the same answer but didn't take the time to read the previously answered ones. "How can I fill and back the fabric and try to make that pin board?" I've never heard a question like that answered they way Sarah did.. Starting with "I'm not sure exactly but I'm going to be making another and..."
The backing is called press board and I got it at a local building supply store. I first attached it to particle board with contact cement. . You could also use cork sheeting. The trim is casing from building supply store. Just

creative! turned mirror into bulletin board; love the colors
It’s hard to believe, but the nursery’s bulletin board was originally a gold and brown mirror found at HomeGoods. Bishop knew it had potential, so she began by painting the entire thing white, then painted each inset with colors she pulled from the
the aforementioned inspirational piece of artwork. Believing a bulletin board would be more useful than a mirror, she topped the mirror with stiff cardboard cut to size. She then cut cork tiles to the shape and spray-glued the pieces to the cardboard. Bishop removed the need for tiny, potentially dangerous
ribbon to the cork for tucking in photos and mementos. “Kids are always collecting things or are fascinated by certain interests,” says Bishop. “Bulletin boards give them a place to be creative and corral their inspirations in one place.”

Could you tell me how you attached the cork board to the cabinet & how thick the board is? I'm concerned that my board may not be thick enough and I will be punching holes in my cabinet. Thx
I use a 1/8" thin removable layer of cork to finish a 1/2" built in backing of fiber board. This way the tacks can penetrate deep enough to hold and the face can be easily replaced when it becomes damaged.

Cork board covered with linen or other textured material.
Really like this idea for a more stylish bulletin board.
6. Use linen-covered cork for a chic look. Make a simple, frameless pin board by covering a cork or Homasote board (made from recycled paper) with natural linen or another textured fabric. Add a thin layer of batting (available where quilting supplies
supplies are sold) before covering with fabric for a softer look, and use a staple gun to secure the fabric to the back of the board.
