How are the stainless and wood seamed?
It sounds like you're asking about sealers of finish material. You shouldn't use any oils as the wood will yellow with age. You should use something like our durable acrylic but if you don't have professional equipment or resources you could use Rubio Monacoat clear natural sealer! Stay away from line

with a hip wood stack and modern accessories. “It really needed a shot of texture,” says Davin.
Stack wood in fireplace? Good texture and a place to store dry wood for den
Make it look like a fireplace, but just stack wood in it.....
note on fireplaces: If you have a working fireplace, keep a neat stack of wood nearby and it will feel all the more cozy, even when a fire isn't lit. If you have a nonworking fireplace, try filling it to the brim with cut wood, books (pages facing out, not spines) or a cluster of hurricane lanterns.
Here's a clever way to display your firewood in the summer: Fill your entire fireplace with wood. It provides a very natural and practical use of the space during the off season.
