to store dishes and pantry items (Photo #2). Since the homeowners are avid cooks, the counters along the wall at the cook top were made 30” deep. The counter on the right of the cook top is maple butcher block; the remainder of the countertops are Silver and Gold Granite. Recycling is very important
incorporates the same espresso finish as an accent to create a paneled effect (Photo #1). The designer specified an oiled natural maple butcher block as the counter for the eating bar. The lighting over the bar, from Rejuvenation Lighting, is a traditional shaker style, but finished in antique copper
Love the layout, we're working on a plan almost identical to this. Is there any other counter space available in the kitchen (on the left side, near the ovens)? We're looking at a 9' straight

you like it and what do you do to maintain it? Also, would you happen to know the name/pattern of the soapstone? Is the wooden countertop a maple butcher block? Loved how your home looks lived in...just my style! Thank you!

The counters are made of something called Ashfield Stone which is local to our area. ALso called schist. They are very similar to soapstone. Both of soapstone

It makes the counters a little oily for a couple days (don't put paper on it because it will get oily) but after that, it soaks into both surfaces and just makes it look
