the kitchen? I was thinking of Brazilian walnut. Everyone is pushing me to do porcelain tile but I really love wooden floor in the kitchen. What are the pros and cons between the two and what do you suggest?

What type of wood & stain color on the floors?
was used is a 2" red oak and the floor color is Minwax Special Walnut
The stain looks great over those floors. The Minwax website has a great list of available stains and is a great place to start getting ideas.

The stain color is from Minwax - Special Walnut. We always test a sample first since all woods take stain differently.

"Special Walnut" floor color from Minwax. Other photos make this stain look very dark, but here the color is true to the handout. Now it looks a bit too yellow.

So do you actually use a separate stain in addition to a Marine Tung Oil product when finishing?
Whis is the difference between walnut or black walnut counter tops?
How do you have a stain with an oil finish? wont it rub off?

@Mary -- Walnut and American Black Walnut are the same thing. We do offer other versions of Walnut like Argentine Walnut. This particular picture doesn't reflect the natural color of walnut, however. This is stained darker.
