guard rail, at least here in the NW. Good example you could apply this to is a back yard deck with two steps. I agree it is the perfect loft for kids. When I was a kid any large box was my loft. The only thing it required was tape, a marker and some imagination.
Why would a railing be required
not only for their functionality but for their 'voice' in a room. Wood contributes to a warm and crafted feel - if you put a slick, glossy, all-too-perfect finish on it, it detracts from this.
