the panel edge. The glass pieces in the backsplash are largely opaque rather than transparent to diffuse the light and so that the panels are not visible. The backsplash was fused to a sheet of clear glass so that it was self supporting and there is an air space between the glass and the LED panels.
added a sheet of shoji paper to the back of the clear glass panel and it diffused the light beautifully. Good luck, as I said, it wasn't easy but in the end was well worth the effort. Here is a photo that shows the glass a little better. The glass and the wood on this project often photographs much more
