What do you do with a sunken firepit when not in use? My husband is skittish about doing one--does anyone ever fall in? Seriously :)
We have found the most popular sizes are 36" and 45" diameter and 11-14" deep, but we are handcrafting cast iron bowls and stands. The cast iron radiates a lot of heat. In the pit above typically rock or sand may be used for drainage. Obviously, the overall size will depend on your outdoor living area
them. I do have a client that posts pictures of her dog jumping in her fire pit, not when the fire is on :) Good luck getting your hubby to agree, a firepit is a great addition to any yard.

Is it also Limestone and do you know if it is slippery?
It is Travertine with a Limestone banding. The Travertine is not as pourous as other stone and probably tends to be more slippery when wet.
Thank you! The tile is HM140 from Master Tile and the coping is Leuder limestone.
