The columns are actually wrapped with 1x 10 rough sawn cedar. We use western red cedar on our projects because of its natural beauty and its ability to hold up to the weather. Thanks for asking ! Dan
held up by a king post, sitting on a transfer beam. The beams are DF with metal cap flashing on the end tails and the transfer beam is DF wrapped in cedar. Thanks for your question ! Dan

Questions6
What is color & manufacture of cedar?
We like the timber detailing in the gable (interesting, but not too much). We like the stone work at the base of the posts. We like the arched windows. We like the overall colours (but not the white windows).
raw timbers, white trim, dark house color
Batton board lower with cedar shingles upper
White trim around windows with timber framing
Blue and cedar combination, very nice.
Wood, cedar shake, stone, need a more grey hardy board
