Did you use the acoustical wall system with the 2" sound deadening material behind and z channel for the ceiling. What was the result. Beautiful work!

VERY low ceiling heights to begin with and we did not want to make them any lower than necessary. Also keep in mind that the system you described is about $19 SF and that's without installation.
The ceiling product is ordered directly form the factory (Fry Reglet) as it will be cut to the size you need. Its always best to work with your architect or interior designer to specify and order this product

What is the process to paint the ceiling?
Having basement finished. I showed contractor but don't have high expectations in his ability to made it correctly. Happy to pay for details.thank you
I love the look you have created with exposed beams and painted cement walls! Would love to do something like that with our basement but we have insulation in between joists overhead and a contractor told us the walls had to be insulated? is that right? we live in Northeast USA

Does this ceiling treatment (no insulation) cause heating problems on the main level? Does sound travel up?

The ceilings were sprayed by a professional painter. The noise transmission will be greater between the floors when you removed the plaster from the ceiling. Thanks for inquiring.
