and water are constantly hitting the ceiling. I was reluctant to use tiles on the ceiling because I imagined they will not hold on. Is there a certain technique to apply them safely?
Hello, what size tile is this please?
We tiled the ceiling in our shower. Our contractor used an epoxy-based tile adhesive that was quick drying. He back-buttered each tile, as well as applied the adhesive to the concrete board. He held each tile until set.

It's original 2" ceramic hex tile probably English like the wall tile. Early 20th century.
Thanks to Benjamin Moore, original wall and floor tile and our great photographer Bradley M
M Jones! The original ceramic wall and floor tiles (1908) had a beautiful soft off white color. We selected Benjamin Moore color #OC-13 Soft Chamois to complement existing palette and selected Benjamin Moore #OC-12 Muslin for the walls. Bathroom finishes also coordinated with new wallpaper and trim
