The depth of the counter with the column is about 26" deep.
The columns were part of the design of the Scullery style, Christopher Peacock Cabinetry line that we carry here in our showroom in the Boston Design Center.
The columns are made custom. I have made some for my neighbor when replacing his old columns. They have a 4X4 or 6X6 post which is anchored top and bottom (plumb), then frame around the post with 1X? then frame around that at the bottom and top with additional material. Really easy to do if you
These columns look like columns we build out of treated pine 6 x 6's wrapped in 3/4 inch Hardie material then trimmed with 3/4 inch Hardie top and bottom with added vinyl trim to finish out the look. This way they can be anywhere from 7 inches to 11 inches wide depending upon how beefy you want them
