Initially they looked like concrete backer board to me, then poured concrete. If they are indeed poured concrete, what purpose do the holes serve? In any case, this is awesome work. I love it!
Jay, here is more detailed information to follow up your question: The concrete walls are 12" thick and were cast in place using plywood forms. Form-ties are used during construction to keep the forms in place with wet concrete. Once cured, the ties are snapped off and leave the holes as a result. They
pay attention to the concrete. the holes in the wall and the hall have definite energy which appeals to me.
