poured concrete floors in my converted garage/entertaining area. I love the look of the natural concrete, but many have said that I'll be cleaning up dust all the time and that I should seal it in some way. What is your experience if any? This is the look I love and am on my way to creating something
older concrete?). Thought about trying to sand the gouges down rather than fill. Did you face this problem in your project? If so, please let me know what you did. Thanks!
I like the concrete transition from inside to outside....the color is a typical grey concrete

of the concrete. There was no skimming or concrete. Everything there was in the formwork. Again, a fabulous job welding and not damaging the concrete.

I like the gate. maybe we could have a gate at top or bottom of stairs
The stair design is what I want
It helps to plan ahead when you build stairs like this... obviously.
this stair's 4-foot cantilever is made possible by steel's tensile strength and by welding the treads to embedded steel plates in the concrete wall.

does the concrete sub stair go into the ground? Also, is it a differerent color than the bicast top?
How far apart is each sub stair poured? Also, how far does the step overerhang the sub stair? Thanks
The concrete sub-stair goes below the frost line (which is 16" in Seattle). Both the base and finish treads are natural gray concrete, but end up with slightly different color because of the differences in concrete batches & mixes and the finish of the formwork.
The sub-stairs are a continuous monolithic pour - pretty much what you'd do for a typical concrete staircase. I don't have access right now to the construction drawings, but I believe the nosing overhangs by about 4". The ends of the treads are staggered, so the overhang varies

My style of use of concrete, steel and wood
The concrete steps, integrated with the wall separating them from the driveway and planter beds, reminds me of Carlos Scarpa's Olivetti Showroom in Venice, one of the most beautiful modern stairs ever.

also, are these concrete pavers? if not what are they? Thank you!
24x24 concrete pavers. The concrete planters were not colored, but they were sacked to fill in the holes from the concrete pour. As the NW climate is moderate, there should not be excessive heating or cooling that would encourage the concrete to crack. In addition the concrete planters were designed
uniform stairs, but this needs to be taken further
