Being a painting contractor I've learned that when you paint a small sample of neutral color in the middle of a white wall it always looks darker than the true overall color because your eye is seeing a very stark contrast. When painted over a large area/wall with just crown and baseboard being white
'mellow' out a bit. This generally works for neutrals but not for bright colors like pinks and yellows as they will intensify with surface area covered.

out of a cushed velvet fabric that lines both sides of the draperies. We just told our drapery people what we wanted and they custom made them (and the hardware) for us. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Maybe someone out there will read this and have more insight for you.
