White clematis shows off with style. Give it support and shade its roots with smaller plants around the base of the container, like variegated sedge (Carex morrowii 'Ice Dance') or cool chartreuse coleus.

A GARDEN PARTY FOR ME AND BRANDY
draped in clematis (or any vine for that matter) turns a piece of yard into an outdoor room where guests can linger over lunch without getting a sunburn.

autumn clematis planted in pots? I have planted in ground but wasn't sure how well it would do (or how long it could withstand) in a planter vs ground?
My guess is sweet autumn clematis? Or maybe Jasmine?
type of clematis? I love this garden. You did a fantastic job!
Autumn Clematis, Clematis paniculata. They are planted behind the boxwood hedge because they like shaded roots and trained up the fence with string. Once they reach the top they take off, intermingle and cascade. They bloom late in the season with these tiny white flowers. One of my favorites!

1. Container gardening. Whether they're pots of herbs or troughs full of greens and root crops, containers work well to maximize small spaces. Prefab containers come in numerous shapes, sizes and materials. It’s worth noting that not all containers are created equal. If you live in an area that has cold
select containers that can deal with fluctuations in temperature. Steer clear of terra-cotta, as it can crack and dry out roots; look for the many emerging polycarbonate and fiberglass options instead. They will cost you more initially, but they are built to last, and you won’t have any nasty surprises
