Make room for active play.Especially if you live in an urban area or are lacking outdoor play space, it's important to incorporate some playground elements into your home — space permitting, of course. If you have the room, by all means go ahead and devote an entire room to active play. But if not, here
living room? It would be a conversation starter when visitors drop by, and the kids are sure to love it. Just be sure to take precautions to install it safely. If you have a long hallway, let your child use it as a "road" for a ride-on-top vehicle or scooter.

front rooms/living rooms as a kid zone. This is the first room visitors see, and it can get messy. Instead, try using a rarely-used dining room. I dig the idea of bookcases that can be used as cubbies for holding toys. (Get baskets that fit inside to keep the small stuff together and away.) And the
of the room spare and coordinated and saving one place — in this case, it's the bookcase —for a riot of color and texture. Against an empty background, a cluttered area looks intentional and artistic.

waste: Kid's play areas and desks are a primary spot for wasting supplies. Try organizing crafts, writing utensils, and small school supplies in easy to find containers. The easier it is to put things back, the less likely the kids will lose them. That saves money and needless new supplies.
keep your kids from wandering to your storage closet to “look for crayons,” only to escape to the swing set when your back is turned.

There's a website you can order wall prints from to project on walls, as described above. I've seen it done in a boy's room with an airplane on wall above the bed. I know his dad is not an artist so I was surprised how well he painted it.

Kids love to play in small, secret spaces! A nook under the stairs is a perfect place for a secret playspace...and extra toy storage as well! I'd love to hear your ideas for creating fun play spaces for your kids!
area for kids? The coolest part is that you can get away with painting it bubblegum pink and not wonder if it will work with the rest of the house. The kids will love visiting and will remember your house forever. I know this because my aunt had one, and it was so much fun. Plus, we'd keep ourselves entertained

case: Kids’ stuff. When a child’s room is overflowing with stuff, it’s hard to focus on any one thing, and pretty soon all of those lovingly chosen toys become just part of the mess. Setting space constraints is a smart way to handle this situation. Dedicate certain shelves, plus perhaps a toy closet
notice that stuff is piling up on the floor (because it has nowhere else to go), take that as a cue to give something away.
