Cork also touts a lot of green cred: It's a rapidly renewable and carefully protected resource. Every nine years producers in Portugal and Spain strip the thin

The corks are laid out in alternating angles so there will be some spaces at the top and bottom of the design which I can fill in with glass or marbles. What would you use for backing (to attach the corks on? I don't want to attach the corks directly to the wall. I'm planning to do 1/2" border at
Do you need to wash the corks and dry them in the sun prior to making a cork backsplash wall?
great cork backsplash! Who makes this, and does it come in any other-than-natural colors?
1/16" cork. The cork to cork should give you the uniform bond your looking for and a background that looks good without having to add odds and ends.
Were the corks applied directly to the wall or was something put over the wall before applying?

Can cork flooring be used throughout a house or is it too soft for entrance ways? I heard that high heels could damage cork flooring, is that correct?
jammercoalcreek - You didn't specify which of the photos you are looking at. The 1st photo, though it is not my cork floor, would be Forna's "Salami". As a glue down tile, it sells for $1.78/sf and as a floating floor (click-together
library of cork. Black Beach glue down tile = $1.69/sf or a floating floor = $2.79/sf. The third photo (again, not my floor) would be a version of Forna's "Taupe Leather". So far, it only comes in a floating floor = $3.89/sf You can find all of these floors (or Forna's versions of them) at: USA = www

old wine corks! How did you do this. I have been collecting for a long time and would love to do this.
Where can I buy these? Is there an instructional way to put these corks together or are they just glued? Thank you in advance!
Thanks, Becky. If you make one, don't let anyone try to convince you that you have to seal the corks. http://www.craftynest.com/2010/03/sealing-wine-corks-test/
