ceramic tile at the bottom to stop the water. Cooper backsplash for behind stove & overhead.
Water leaking behind your wood splash will cause
a matching short splash. Make sure that your contractor and installer use a waterproof silicone adhesive to stick the backsplash to the countertop. Water leaking behind your wood splash will cause rot over time — which can be expensive to clean up.See the Houzz guides to kitchen counters, backsplashes

The door swings out. There are many options for turning on the water. The diverter is directly above the tub filler, but the on/off, and temp. control can be outside of the shower or on a different wall.

Is there any protection (silicone/rubber) in the bottom of the glass panel so the water does not go through?
Typically a silicone strip is added to the bottom of a shower door to help keep water; this would appear to be very thin and clean. Definitely advisable from a functionality standpoint.

Who makes the shower wall racks I sure like it better then the tiled corner shelves used in most shoers
some sort so that the left facing wall can be tiled. I have a similar situation that this would be ideal for, but am worried about longevity and water tightness. Some more details would be great! Interesting use of space for sure.
