cor-ten steel that rusts by eggleston farkas architects
this steel for exterior or interior fire/backsplash
Cor-ten steel showing variation in colour.
cor-ten steel wall finishes
one of my favorite materials, Cor-Ten Steel, this close-up does a great job of showing the variation in color found in the material. A sandpaper-like texture can be gleaned from this photo, a sign of the oxidation that adds the coat of rust to the steel.
Cor-Ten steel is fairly uniform, but it still
has variation (in color and texture) that exhibits the process it underwent. A layer of rust may seem like a bad thing, but it actually protects the steel underneath, and therefore requires little to no maintenance.
