I have had a soapstone countertop in my kitchen for almost 14 years. I love it and recommend it to anyone with a well lit kitchen. It is a great surface for a working kitchen. The first 2-3 years I was oiling the countertops every 10-14 weeks, but gradually became every 4-6

What kind of wood and where did you get the countertop for the island? Thanks.
Beautiful kitchen! What stone are the countertops? is it honed?
island top is strips of cherry "butcher block" - it was custom made at the contractors mill shop. I don't recommend an undermount sink in a wood countertop -the end grain absorbs water - better to do a drop in sink.

1. Start with your countertops. "Countertops require careful contemplation, especially for a large island, as this can be the biggest single item of color and texture," says Ahmann. This
sticking with a single countertop material, with a slight variation at the pantry or island, for consistency and simplicity.

Zebra wood cabinetry with Apple Martini Caesarstone countertops
kinda like cabinets, counters but apple martini and the stripe in the countertop
general ugh - countertops are awful, different cabinets top and bottom - why wouldn't they have more upper cabinets?? Odd use of backsplash..
The zebra wood cabinetry is the perfect hue to contrast with the apple-green countertop. Glen says it's worth it to invest in the materials that matter, such as cabinetry and countertops. "But durability doesn't have to be boring," she adds. Glen and the family spent a lot of time researching what the

what type of countertop is on the island and the backsplash? what type of wood is the island made of?
What type of countertops here... Quartz? if so what kind or what is the name... Also are these mitered edges to create that thick look?
Beautiful wood island. Marble countertops and backsplash. Hardwood floors to match island? Love the spice shelf.
Most of the time when you see an extra-thick countertop, it's a mitered edge. Meaning that the thickness is standard either 2cm or 3cm with a mitered frame around the sides, making the slab look thicker. This is a great way to make your kitchen countertops the focal point, and it can work well in either

At these extreme dimensions, the architect certainly had to contend with seams.Natural stone can be the most limiting material choice for long countertops, with the selection of slabs trailing
