Would a natural oak stain work on floors on French Country homes?
love the lanterns, would be great in a french country-old world kitchen.
Natural might be a little light depending on other color in the room.. But hardwood floors look great in French country kitchens.. :)

Would this look work next to an open living room done in craftsman?
My kitchen is this green/using buffalo ck. curtains. Instead of eat in area-I use an antique butcher block with floral upholstered chairs. Living room is open to kitchen with mission/craftsman furnishings.
I am trying to separate a very large room (L-shaped living and dining room). I would love to know what colors you used to blend it all together.
Country Curtains has curtains like this in their catalog and on-line. Believe they are called 'Buffalo Checks' curtains and come in the color of choice; navy
I bought those at a local decor shop. Only set they had on the floor two years ago. Every one seems to love it. It came in the distressed yellow you see. I did not do it.

I love your style ! Everything is gorgeous and not over decorated just simple and beautiful! I want to do what you did on my fireplace "simple elegance"
Thank you. We put in the flooring ourselves. It's a laminate product, Allure by Trafficmaster. Country Pine. You can see tons of pics of our home here: http://theoldpaintedcottage.com/pages/mycottage.htm
love the look of multiple various shades of white in one space. Monochromatic shades are very appealing when layered correctly. In the case of my living room (as seen in the photo above) I ran the beadboard wallpaper (yes, that's wall paper. can you believe!) through my hallway, and wrapped it around

Although Gayle's favorite summertime spot is in the back sun porch, it is the living room that gets her vote throughout the cold months, thanks to the wood-burning fireplace. "Need I say more?!", she jokes. The feeling of the space is akin to an elegant lodge, with a cut stone hearth and plenty of
Hi, I love your fireplace. I was thinking of using the same Southern & Country Ledgestone color White Oak. I like that you mixed the 2 different ledgestones. What ratio was it? Also, what did you use for the top of the bench.
I live locally in Cincinnati. Where did you get the stone?
The stone is from Boral. We combined the shapes called Southern Ledgestone & Country Ledgestone in the color White Oak. The country ledgestone is the one w/ the more rectangular flat face & we added them for visual interest accent to break up the other southern

Hi, is that a direct vent fireplace? If so, who is it made by Town & Country, Heat & Glo or Lennox? What is the size? Thanks so much!
We live in Marin also and was wondering who did your fireplace? I love the herringbone brick pattern and would love to have that installed in ours - thank you! :)
technically an insert (which is something that goes into an existing fireplace), it's a gas fireplace. I'm pretty certain it is a 36" Town & Country with the Country Home burner. Check it out here: http://www.townandcountryfireplaces.net/products/tc36.php Here it is with a different burner, in the arched
