Very interesting opaque roof?, Love it....What is it made of?
This is of concern to me too! My husband told me he grew up with a similar patio roof that often showed the leaves and debris that gathered on it.
How do you keep the roof clean?

A double wall polycarbonate roof sheet would provide partial shade depending on the angle of the sun.

Best green roof ever! I want a green roof on our new desert home. I would love to have many succulents on the roof. The succulents would require less water and the weight of the roof would be significantly less.
Green roof. Cost range: Varies widely depending on where you live. You’re likely to spend $13 to $45 per square foot installed.
Add soil and plant your roof as though it were a garden in the ground, as shown here.
The roof's role in both the landscape and architecture of the site and design is a unique aspect of this project. Because of the necessary terracing, the roof of the lower cabin (the yoga studio), is the initial site experience. The green roof is really the curb appeal of the property — the first facade

How are the roof panels attached so water doesn't leak it?
HI. We live in South Florida. Love the design, but was thinking the steel corrugated roof- so it will keep the sun out. I am alittle nervous about the wood- it is so hot here- even the pressure treated wood turns yucky and grey. Thoughts? Thank you.

Polycarbonate roofing; Home Depot carries it. They have various grades and colors.

Many people shovel their roofs. This garden is an awesome idea but how can roofs cope with the weight?
I agree! Just curious if these roofs could handle northern country winters Any suggestions?
That roof looks buff as a mutha, but I like the idea of farming on your roof. Nice low pitch, growing some herbs and such, opening up all that wasted space on the roof. Also all the benefits of green roofs.
Green roof. House becomes part of the forest.
