dining room its a long 360 square foot area with 8 foot ceilings height. Really want to achieve same tray ceiling with hidden cove lighting. Is it possible
Crown molding was attached several inches up on the pre-existing soffit. LED strip lighting was attached to the inside of the crown, and the transformer was hidden in the corner. The ceiling was painted with a pearlescent finish for a beautiful shimmer effect.

the shoe molding is stained like the floors. How tall are your baseboards? The idea behind the stained shoe molding is that it is more forgiving and takes abuse better.
I like the idea of this. In particular I'm intrigued by the idea of a kitchen having a lower ceiling height than the room it opens up into.
