wanted a "curbless" shower and that is why I chose it. Unfortunately, the contractor could not make the entrance to the shower curbless. So, it is still a step-in shower. Would I chose a linear drain again? Probably not. Although it is "different" looking", it is not worth the expense....sorry to say
curbless showere with french drain. This is what I want!
curbless shower with french drain on far side of shower
A curbless shower with a trench drain makes the zero-threshold bathroom and shower area safer; the homeowners don't have to step over a threshold or risk tripping over a sill.

CURBLESS SHOWERS TAKE A GOOD DEAL OF PLANNING TO PULL THEM OFF EFFECTIVELY.. What looks like a wooden mat at the entrance to this one is actually a drain cover to catch any water overflow.

I stayed in a hotel in Singapore a few years ago in a room with a curbless, open shower with only a part glass wall separating it from the rest of the bathroom. It was so fabulous - I drew a sketch of it and promised myself to do one the next time I renovate

The shower is curbless and fully accessible. The couple considered installing glass partition walls but decided that a curtain and rod would provide the most flexibility.
