Fencing and gates are smooth Cedar with two coats of Sikkens Log & Siding semi-transparent stain, color Dark Oak. Decking is simply pressure treated Douglas Fir that has been thoroughly dried, then drum sanded, then stained with the same treatment as fence.
It is an uplight (well light) in the wood deck, uplighting the gate.
The gate into the home is very inviting but intimating to guests.
