I have a deck I am building off our back slider that will go out 10' to the edge of an existing retaining wall that then drops 2 feet down to the lower section of the yard. How do I float them?
Beautiful. What is the name/color if this decking material? Thanks!
Wood steps that are actually mini decks. I like it.
alternative to wide steps. could wrap
well, it's an idea alternative to wrap-around steps.
The squares we work into our designs don't always have to be in two dimensions. Floating deck squares up to a larger deck create a feeling of movement here. Alternating the direction of the timber planks enhances this sense.

Steps. Use steps to your advantage to mediate grade changes in excess of 30 inches. They can also double as seating areas if sized properly.

How is the cantilever for these steps supported?
love the steps How do we go about building them
Not my choice, our client wanted the "so called no maintenance deck" this is a plastic/trex like deck it has a real faux looking wood grain but we did take advantage of the fact that it could touch soil.
Subsituição da escada para o deck da entrada.
I like this idea, versus just standard steps - maybe
Decking can feel very stark in a garden layout due to the nature of the materials and the amount of space. This decking is considerably softened by raising each deck above the next and by edge planting grasses.

An extension of the kitchen and living room addition, the arching deck continues the lines of the kitchen and extends the living space into the back yard.
what type of wood is used for the step facades?
That deck was designed in response to a specific site condition and as an extension to the new addition. We don't typically sell plans because each condition is unique and is going to call for a unique solution. We would be happy to work with you to design a deck that fits your house

This is a very attractive deck/step design. How did you construct it?
I have a modest level of carpentry skills. How difficult is this project on a scale of 1 to 10 with 1 being not difficult at all and 10 being very difficult? I hope to replace a deck on my daughter's house with a similar design
a bit of engineering planning to calculate the cantilevers! I also drew out a framing sketch first. Once it was drawn out, it required only typical deck-building skills. joe
Love the deck and the wall lights

A layered deck to form steps down to the lawn.
Consider how it will look. When adding a deck, it’s best to consider the style and architecture of your house so that the addition either blends in with or at least complements your home. A trained professional will be best suited to make recommendations on deck style, materials, color and more.
