Modern ipe deck and landscape. Landscape and hardscape design by Evergreen Consulting. Architecture by Green Apple Architecture. Decks by Walk on Wood Photos by Harvey Smith
Love this deck effect and landscape.
the horizontal boards create an interesting separation between the deck and the landscaping. It helps to define both spaces.
could be a way to handle the different levels of garden and deck. good lighting, like the screen too
floating deck, walled fence betwn sections with lower area on the north east for training and kids play
Beautiful idea for deck in backyard
Decking. A contractor friend of mine calls wood decks “dry rot in slow motion.” He’s pretty spot-on. Traditional wood decks, regardless of how much waterproofing sealant you apply each year, will eventually succumb to nature’s forces (or termites). But if you’ve got a sloping property, need a level surface

maintenance deck" this is a plastic/trex like deck it has a real faux looking wood grain but we did take advantage of the fact that it could touch soil.
grasses on corners of deck, deck layers
Steps off deck instead of the cement
Decking can feel very stark in a garden layout due to the nature of the materials and the amount of space. This decking is considerably softened by raising each deck above the next and by edge planting grasses.

love this deck and this is almost exactly what I am looking for as an addition to my home. The exception is that I would like it free standing. Is that possible?

of each deck? Upper (fence side) and lower (Jacuzzi part)
upper deck is 24' (house side) and goes out 22' (where the embrella is) The lower deck is 12' out (steps to bench) and 16' wide (parallel with the board) Hope this helps. Clemens

Incorporate a second deck off our deck and transition to backyard
Pros: You won’t have to stain or treat the decking, and many types can be installed with concealed fasteners just like dense hardwoods. Composite decking manufacturers now offer not only different colors, but also textures and even copies of grain patterns of tropical hardwoods.Cons:

expand the front porch into a deck to lounge and entertain on
Ellis removed two French doors in the living room area and replaced them with large sliding glass doors, bringing the living room and the outdoor deck area together as one large space. "The front deck challenged
outdoor deck area together as one large space. "The front deck challenged us. The wisteria tree presented some issues, and we made sure not to damage any of its roots. It was planted in 1954, and I still have this image of it being a little shrub," she says.
Add a deck. Decks may not be the first
Composite decks are organic looking just by virtue of the wood tone and grain, and are a great option for those wanting to warm up the more public part of their property.Choosing a Deck: Plastic or Wood?
