or on decomposed granite, on Long Island, New York ? Thanks.
hardener/stabilizer. Recently I was involved in a project here, and learned the hard way that dg paths with stabilizers can still get mushy when wet. Before using a stabilizer or hardener, just ask the manufacturer specifically how their product performs in wet conditions.
Decomposed granite, or DG, is a granitic rock that has weathered to the point of breaking into very small pieces and silt-like particles.
Decomposed granite. Must look for it.
Decomposed Granite (DG) is a great material for paths, drains well and hardens or compacts very well. It creates a softer look than gravel.

up the decomposed granite paths. Would it pack tightly enough to be used with say flagstone? Many thanks
Decomposed granite is exactly that. Small, fines of granite stone in "sand-like" form. Decomposed granite may be used with flagstone in the crevice areas. It compacts nicely and neatly. Some landscapers use a stabilizing material to make it even more firm.

Is this decomposed granite expensive ?
Hi, I am in the middle of a decomposed granite problem. I have had 2 separate guys lay down the dg. One with a stabilizer already premixed from a company in San Diego, the other with Gator stabilizer liquid
appropriate stabilizer is available for your conditions, etc.
water:stabilizer mix; bad compaction; too thick a "lift" and more... My best idea is to find some d.g. in your neighborhood that is holding up well then find out who did it then talk to that guy/gal. Also, maybe your local d.g. store has something for you???? Or the supplier of the d.g.??? Wish I
would like decomposed granite as a path around the back side of he house.

humble decomposed granite. Special considerations: It's similar to decomposed granite. Maintenance: The upkeep for crushed granite gravel is similar to that for decomposed granite and pea gravel, as it has some of the same qualities as each of those materials.

Crushed Granite Gravel The basics: This one is closely related to decomposed granite, but it's a bit chunkier in texture and size. While DG has quite a bit of silt and almost sand-like particles, crushed granite gravel

shale and decomposed granite can be an inexpensive yet elegant choice, especially when edged by a richer material, like stone or brick. Advantages include permeability, low cost and ease of installation. However, these materials are more likely to be displaced, especially if water passes over them. And
