LÄTT Children's table and 2 chairs
Lovely room for a young girl
very cool idea to use colorful crown molding to accent the room
Layout of items needed for real, functional space
reiterate: Children don't need to be bombarded with stuff to be joyful. The bright and beautiful child's room pictured here is actually rather diminutive, but it's airy, inspiring, colorful and well organized. It's more than large enough for dreaming, drawing, reading and imagining, yet it's not bursting
no room for the things she would receive. A lot of times, those gifts were donated to children far less fortunate. We were living at the poverty level, but there were people living in much worse situations, and it felt important to share with them what I considered an abundance of things.I’m not saying

When possible, create an open art station where children can grab supplies and create whenever they wish. For younger children, keep out less permanent objects like washable markers and pipe cleaners, and get paints down when necessary.
fantastic idea for organizing ribbons in addition to all sorts of crafting, wrapping and office supplies.
In craft spaces, a peg board is one of the most versatile tools for organization. This is a great surface for hanging small buckets, bins and hooks. You can even paint your peg board to add a

bedrooms for the two young children, we designed a single large bedroom with a sliding wall of Douglas fir. Half of the space can be configured as a playroom, with the children sleeping on the other side. The playroom can also function as a guest room. Photo by Ofer Wolberger
thing but for a much higher cost.
The mat is actually made of Flor tiles. We used three colors - two reds that are a nice compliment to one another, and one gray to anchor the room. We used a similar scheme for another playroom design but in different colors. Here are a couple of images showing parts
hanks for the compliment. The doors are custom but relatively simple. We purchased typical flat slab doors and veneered them with Douglas Fir. The ends are solid wood and as you can see from the photo, they overlap each other. When the "leading" door is slid fully to the left, it catches the end of the

Adding to the chaos, seemingly every surface was covered in photos of these beautiful boys and their cavalcade of creativity. By contrast, this room shows how fresh and modern children's artwork can be if it's displayed

have it decorated with this theme....problems is I can't find curtains to match. Do you have any ideas where I can find curtains that could match a room like the one pictured. (Does not have to be exact....just the bug theme) Thanks for your help!
inspiration for the wall murals?? They are fantastic!
What type of paint did you use for the 'critters'?
This room was hand painted. I would suggest hiring a muralist to hand paint the walls if you can't do it yourself. Basically, I took a children's book that I liked the illustrations and copied the images and just drew and painted them all over to create a bug's life room. Good Luck
inspiration for the wall mural is "That Pesky Dragon" By Julie Sykes. Hope that helps!
