We are renovating the kitchen in our traditional 2-story brick (1920's) home with existing dark wood floors and lots of beautiful classic wood trim with a similar stain as the floor throughout the house. We are enlarging the
the darker wood flooring throughout the main floor? Although we love white (or ivory) kitchens, this doesn't seem to maintain the feel or look of the home. Also, since the kitchen cabinets will now be visible from the main formal entrance it seems we would want it to blend rather than stand out. Thoughts

just depends on the look you are going for. The project above was in a 1920's tudor so wood cabinets & flooring felt very much at home. Or if you were doing a vacation home in the mountains for example, lots of wood makes sense. I would be especially careful in a small and/or dark space with using too
