The mantel and legs are made from Old-Growth Redwood. It wasn't treated or sealed. The wood was originally part of a water tank in the hills above San Rafael, CA. It probably dates back to beginning of the 20th century.

wanted to design a space that looked minimalist but that still had all the necessary functions for a multipurpose space and that could fit in the apartment's limited square footage. Expanding the kitchen countertop slightly into the living room created more prep room and makes the space look larger.
