material is a little time consuming but well worth the trouble. Depending on the material you're painting you may need a special primer, like zinser bullseye 1-2-3. Then you would want a base color, where here I think would be a grey tone, but most distressing articles reccomend a wood tone varying from a
tan to a dark brown. May need two coats of base coat, and I prefer to use a brush rather than a roller and let it be somewhat textured from the bristle streaks to give more of a woodgrain effect. Once cured take a somewhat softened candle and rub wax on any edges and also all the places you want the base
through. A brick-red or brownish red top coat can be applied over that n when that is cured, take a putty knife to the areas you had applied the wax and the top coat will come right off to expose the base coat color and give a layer paint effect, more rustic and aged looking. Now, you could keep repeating

I like the hooks and bracket that you used to hang the screen, and I have a mirror that i need to hang similarly. Was it a custom bracket or could I find that system somewhere?
This looks like a standard tub. Am
used a wood that doesn't have a lot of gaining...like alder or maple or cherry. Bc we wanted a darker espresso stain, we went with alder. Maple doesn't stain dark and cherry goes red, which we didn't want. He stain is actually a dark brown with red undertones.
actually a 4-sized versailles stone pattern and the variation you see is the natural color variation. stone is called blue creme. it was purchased from GRANITE AND TILE RESOURCES at the mart in chicago.
