Madre Perla counters...does anyone have info on durability and practicality in kitchen?
Thinking of installing madre perla as kitchen counter. It's a quartzite stone. It's beautiful and somewhat resembles marble.

quickly, replacing laminate countertops in the kitchen will help make that happen. We can argue the particulars, but solid-surface, natural stone or quartz countertops will help sell your home. When a property is above the $350,000 range, I highly recommend the upgrade. If it's below that, there is absolutely

who manufactures the oleander quartz? i couldn't find via google.
Absolutely stunning! Is quartz cheaper than marble and is it easier to look after? Thank you!
What is make & name of quartz counter? Is it like Cambria Torquay?
natural quartz will etch and stain if you allow acids to stay on it but man made quartzite will not etch or stain. The stone was gorgeous but we had issues with etching and staining pretty easily. I recommend going with a man made quartz for the lighter colors in a kitchen
This particular quartz is softer than granite as far as the fabrication goes but hard once installed. BUT it will show stains a little similar to white marble. The scratches would show on this like any polished stone. It is not as durable as manufactured quartz at all. You would need to treat

Madre Perla quartzite with onyx backspla
I have been looking for madre perla to use as a backsplash in my kitchen. I wonder if you have any suppliers in the bay area of california, or someone who is willing to ship to california? thank you!
available in NY, but you can contact Stoneville to order and they will ship to you. The Madre Perla is bought by the slab. The onyx is bought by the square ft. Hope this helps. You might be able to find Madre Perla at a Stone/Slab company in NY and it might be possible to get the onyx at Dal Tile. But not

I went with quartzite stone slab from Walker Zanger called Perla Venata. It is very white, creamy, taupe tones. Not quote as much movement as marble but enough to look interesting. My thinking is also that too many kitchens are the carerra marble look
It might be ok for perimeter counters. The design is obviously not marble and is very subtle. The Pasadena 2013 SHOWCASE HOUSE used a marble type quartz for perimeter counters in their kitchen and it looked good.
