Matching the sofa and love seat can sometimes date a room. To freshen things up, I like to add a solid or neutral sofa to ground my space and then add patterns, texture or colors in chairs, ottomans and perhaps a loveseat.

Hi and thanks for your interest (our appologies for the delay). The siding is shiplap wood panelling (featured throughout the entire house) and some is stained, as seen in the hallway outside this room, and some painted. The paint was selected by the customer with the designer, so unfortunately

panelling is actually wood boards fastened to the wall and then painted. These are shiplap siding boards, which you may not find at a big box store, but check at a local lumber supplier. Downstairs these are made of ash and stained, but upstairs (shown) I'm not sure what type of wood it is. I imagine
