Mix and match frames for a wall collage?

I'm in a rental apartment, so I'm trying to make my space look bigger by creating a full, wall-to-wall mirror collage on one of my walls with a high ceiling.

I want them to be different shapes, sizes, and be framed. How do you choose the frame styles and colors for a congruous collage? Is it too much to do it for an entire wall, especially for one with a high ceiling?

You'll have to have a lot of mirrors to cover a high wall and it might be too much. You should concentrate them for more impact, and enjoy a variety of frames. Be sure to shop second hand and flea markets for the best selection of interesting ones.

What if you start with mirrors on the bottom section, then mix mirrors and pics half way up and end at the top with pictures? That still opens the room but doesn't leave you with just a wall of mirrors. It will also cut down on price. One more thought... Use mixed frame styles for the mirrors and use one frame style for the pics.
