With built-ins and an angled fireplace, I'm looking for advice. The room just doesn't pop. HELP! Thanks for your help!

This room is all neutrals and really needs color. Bring it in with throw pillows, lamps with colored bases (ceramic, glass, etc.), paint the back wall of the built-ins, hang a colorful print over the fireplace. That would be a good start.

I think a mirror over the fireplace would be neat! Here are a few ideas for you:

Hope this helps you!

That's because you have all one color. Too much brown. Can you change out the chair for two armless print chairs in a teal, or a more contemporary color print. . Add bolder. Pillows to sofa. Wallpaper or add reclaimed wood around TV built in. Big ottoman Instead of coffee table. Use color.

Over firepl a bold art piece, remove that moulding and a picture to cover most of firepl top. In bold color. Add panels to window ends again accent color. A stainless mosaic tile. Around fireplace opening. New more updated lamps silver base and drum style shades, in white . Look for something unique. You play it safe, and can be boring.

Don't angle furn.face sofa straight at TV. Chairs across from each other. With small table next to them. You will still see FP. Ottoman 24" or bigger. Add colorful items to sofa table. Mix it up TJMax has great things. Make it fun and interesting like putting a small lamp on top of some books. Add plants. Same with built in add just a couple of items on each shelve. By TV add baskets, mixed with plants. Shop find things you like and create a theme. Like sea shells. Then use around room mix with a accent color.

Anne Dee, great pic of what you can do with fireplace. Glass tile will add interest.
